Exercising word and action is the way to Defend Mother Earth
The violence of the armed actors and the media propaganda intensify against our people and against the autonomous actions of our Indigenous Guard. Yesterday the army murdered the commoner Fabián Cuetia in Caldono in cold blood and they took our website off the network, to prevent the country from knowing the truth.
Once again the official voice of the regime echoes the infamies of the public force. This morning the front page news of El Espectador was: Army says that indigenous people have committed several crimes in Cauca, text where the rest is not important. “According to Colonel Piraquive in the Vereda El Rosario, Siberia, part of the municipality of Caldono, a sentry called Fabían Cuetia, supposedly to avoid an attack by the Jacobo Arenas mobile column, but apparently this person did not understand and opened fire which caused the death of the peasant. ”This fact, which is the real crime, remains half done, while the autonomous reaction of the community to demand justice against the murderers, the army and the mass media turn them into kidnapping, aggression. , in terrorism. Just as they did with the actions of peaceful withdrawal of the public force in El Berlín Toribío. The mass media promoted hatred and racism against our Indigenous Guard saying that we are savages and terrorists. The image of the humiliated crying sergeant moved the ignorant of reality in rejection of the autonomous exercise of the Nasa people. How is it possible that they are outraged because we push the army out of our territory and do not protest when they murder, massacre, rape and flood our country in defense of the regime? We arrived centuries crying our pain and the humiliation of greed in our territories.
Through the mass media they accuse us of being guerrillas and they only give a wide and misrepresented dissemination to the eviction of the public force, but they report little of our actions to withdraw the guerrillas. Please look for the information, there is enough, because we have been consistent with our word and we are removing all the armed from our house. We are fighting and we continue to dismantle the guerrilla checkpoints, just as we did last week in El Tierrero.
Please, brothers and sisters co-opted by media propaganda, do not settle for criminal excerpts from the mass media. Visit our website www.nasaacin.org and the other alternative means to get closer to reality. Just as thousands did yesterday, they entered to read, feel and hear our word. To see reality head-on, to see what the mass media did not show because they are at the service of war and their interest is to misinform. That is why they insist on collapsing and removing our website from the network, so that no one can speak in favor of the truth.
Our actions continue to show the world that the communities are doing everything possible to remove the public force from our territory, as well as the FARC guerrillas. Yesterday in Toribío, for example, some guerrillas were arrested trying to launch a tatuco. Now they are under the responsibility of the indigenous authority that has constitutional competence for this. “Governor Marcos Yule assured that the captured guerrillas will be subjected to indigenous justice and that for now they will remain in their charge. When asked why not hand over the four men to the authorities, Governor Yule said: “Why are they even capable of capturing them?” This new autonomous action against the war is another example of the firm decision to demilitarize our territory for all the armed forces, wherever they come from.
The warlords need weapons to feel like men and to be respected by force. They also do everything possible to silence the voice of truth and eliminate arguments. Our Indigenous Guard earned legitimacy and respect because they are moved by the political consciousness of social transformation to defend the territory autonomously. We don’t need to silence anyone, just walk our word in civil resistance to defend Mother Earth.
Faced with our request for demilitarization to stop the armed conflict in Cauca, the response is still more war. Now the government’s order is to create “The Joint Command of the South West, made up of about 5,000 men from the Army, Air Force and Navy.” According to them, this command is a measure to control the crisis of public order in Cauca, but the reality that we foresee is an attack and more war against our people. On the other hand, the FARC guerilla also increases its armed forces in our territory. For more than a week, many guerrillas began to arrive, even to areas where they had never been before. According to the community that saw them in the mountains, they say that they are not even wearing the bracelet or the rubber boots that distinguishes them as guerrillas. That they began to intensify their checkpoints in the area trying to control the entry and exit of cars in Toribío.
“I do not want to see a single indigenous person in the military bases. That is the order since last night,” which Santos gave through his Twitter account. We say to him that we do not want to see a single transnational in our territory or any armed actor. The guerrillas and the Farc militiamen say they are defending the people. Could it be that with their violent actions they are not serving the regime as a pretext for massacring the people? We also demand that they respect our autonomy and allow us to exercise territorial control in our home. That they no longer involve our children and youth in the war. Don’t be fooled and don’t take advantage of the innocent. The police and soldiers justify themselves by saying that they are heroes and are defending the homeland. Do they know what the homeland is and who they are really defending with their lives?
The indigenous comrade Hugo Blanco, a historical fighter from Peru, addressed a letter to the soldiers who in Cajamarca were sent to repress the people who fight against a transnational mining company in Celendín, where he explains that he is the homeland. The meaning of this message from Peru is assumed and we feel it as our word and that is why we tell the armed.
Police brother, soldier soldier, guerrilla brother:
Homeland “are the green valleys of Cajamarca, the mountains of Colombia, the snow-capped mountains of El Wallmapu … Our Mama Kiwe (Mother Earth, we are the peasants, indigenous people, blacks, mestizos born in these fertile lands that we work in, they are the green plants Wild and cultivated, they are the wild and domestic animals that live on the nourishing vegetation, and the homeland are also the children who need to drink clean, uncontaminated water.
The homeland is the beautiful lagoons that adorn the top of our mountains. The Homeland is the aguajales and swamps that feed underground to beautiful and nutritious streams that sprout at different heights providing their water to children, women and men of the rich valleys. La Patria are the limpid rivers that are nourished by the clean water offered underground by the mentioned aguajales and swamps of the summits. The Homeland is the fish that live in those rivers. “
We invite you to divest yourself of violence and to walk with the Colombian people to defend our homeland from the economic model of global aggression that war uses to deprive us and uses us all to destroy ourselves.
Our call is to resist civilly and to fight for a homeland that has been destroyed by the ambition and greed of a few who only know how to accumulate. We invite you to join the resistance of our Nasa people who fight and rise up with dignity.
We call on all Colombians, student teachers, unions, social organizations and popular processes in the country and the world, to relive their struggles with ours in word and action. Remember that the actions of our community are not only for us, the fight for a dignified life and respect for Mother Earth is the responsibility of all of Colombia. We summon their voices, their steps, their infinite creativity to, not only spread and share our initiatives, but to carry out actions in universities, city streets and towns across the country, to deploy all their capacity and will by replicating this legitimate fight which is not only for Cauca but for everyone.
